Gastric Band Hypnotherapy
There has been much in the press recently about Gastric Band Hypnosis and how it can help people to lose weight without surgery. The principle of the therapy is that the client is convinced, at a subconscious level, that a gastric band operation has been performed. The subconscious mind therefore believes that there has been a major reduction in stomach capacity and the body therefore responds differently to hunger and the amount of food that can be eaten. As well as a reduction in the quantity of food that can be eaten, a change in the type of food takes place with the individual far happier eating 'lighter' foods rather than heavy meals.
Gastric Band Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis, N.L.P., E.F.T., regression and other techniques which allow you to be convinced that you have had a Gastric Band fitted. You will have all of the feelings without the risk and discomfort that Invasive Gastric Band Surgery would bring, and you will still LOSE weight.
The advantages of Gastric Band Hypnotherapy over traditional surgery are as follows:
Surgical risks are eliminated
There is no pain involved
Costs are a fraction of those for traditional surgery (which can be as much as £10,000)
No time off work is needed
Some of the disadvantages of traditional Gastric Bypass Surgery:
Some post operative problems reported, with over 80% of patients experiencing one or more of the following symptoms:
Nausea and vomiting (50%)
Reflux or regurgitation of food (35%)
Slipped band (25%)
Obstruction or blockage (15%)
Constipation
Diarrhoea
Difficulty swallowing
If these complications cause you serious discomfort your band may need to be adjusted or removed. This involves further surgery, exposing you to all of the associated risks once again.
With Gastric Band Hypnotherapy you will have all of the feelings of a gastric band but without the risk and discomfort that Invasive Gastric Band Surgery would bring.
HypnoBirthing
This teaches simple but specific self-hypnosis, relaxation and breathing techniques for a better less painful and more harmonious birth.
Severe pain and fear do not have to be an accompaniment of labour and using specialist techniques within hypnosis you can learn how to release the fears and anxieties you may currently have about giving birth.
You will not be in a trance or asleep. What you will experience is similar to a daydream state or when you are fully engrossed in a book or a film. You will always be aware of what is happening to you and around you and you will be able to talk throughout, being totally relaxed, but fully in control. You will be aware of your body's surges and your baby's progress; but because you will have trained yourself to reach complete relaxation, you will be able to determine the degree and manner in which you will feel these surges. You will experience birthing in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, free of the fear that prevents the muscles of your body from functioning as nature intended them to. In this calm state, your body's natural relaxant, endorphins, replaces the stress hormones that constrict and cause pain.

HypnoPuncture
In the current climate of medicalisation, many conditions are resulting in medicines becoming a major part of our lives. Now there is an opportunity for patients to take charge of not only their lives but their health.
HypnoPuncture is a revolutionary, simple and highly effective way of combining two powerful therapies for maximum benefit. Using advanced hypnotherapy and acupuncture, this dual therapy aims to unblock energy, deal with any emotional issues at its core, kick start healing and dispel negative or self-destructive habits.
Hypnosis calms the body's own chemistry into an even and comfortable flow and Acupuncture balances the vital Yin and Yang elements to promote the body's own healing. This is done by unblocking the energy channels that have seized up and may have gone unrecognised by the patient and often refractory to Orthodox Medicine.
It is designed to help with various conditions including weight control, cessation of smoking, anxiety/stress, depression, anger management, alcohol/drug abuse, I.B.S., M.E. pain control for childbirth as well as numerous other problems. By using both acupuncture and hypnotherapy this will bring about balance to the body and alter unconscious behaviour patterns
During this process you are fully in control, awake and aware at all times as well as very deeply relaxed.

I graduated from St Andrews University in Medical Science (1976) and completed my medical training at Manchester Medical School (1979). Following extensive hospital experience I have spent 12 years as a partner in General Practice.
Acupuncture has always been one of my interests and I attended a dedicated training course in Beijing in 1997. I have found that this technique offers great benefit to patients with complex or musculoskeletal conditions. It is becoming increasingly difficult to offer such services within General Practice.
Acupuncture has been used for over 3,000 years and is known to activate the neurovascular bundles, or Meridians, to promote the body's own healing processes. Recent papers confirming acupuncture's usefulness include 'Acupuncture for idiopathic headache' (Cochrane Review, 2004) and 'Is acupuncture effective for the treatment of chronic pain?: a systematic review' (Cochrane, 2000).
HypnoHealing
An intensive healing session using hypnosis, relaxation, channelling and hands on or off healing This therapy is designed to help with varied conditions including anxiety/stress, depression, anger management, alcohol/drug abuse, weight control, public speaking, cessation of smoking, I.B.S., M.E. and numerous other problems.
Emotional Freedom Technique (E.F.T./Tapping)
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a psychotherapeutic alternative medicine tool based on a theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy field and that tapping on the meridians while thinking of a negative emotion alters the body's energy field, restoring it to "balance." There are two major studies, which appear to show positive outcomes from use of the techniques,
It was created by Gary Craig in the mid 1990s and has been shown to have the ability to relieve many psychological and physical conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, general stress, addictions and phobias.
How does your therapy work?
The basic EFT technique involves holding a disturbing memory or emotion in mind and simultaneously using the fingers to tap on a series of 12 specific points on the body that correspond to meridians used in Chinese medicine. The theory behind EFT, based on an ancient theory of acupuncture, is that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy field and that tapping on the meridians whilst thinking of a negative emotion or event alters the body's energy field, restoring it to "balance." This therapy can be used with or without hypnosis.
